About Us
Our mission is to ensure the wellbeing of children and their families by promoting environments of peace and safety.
Neighborhood Place of Kona is a community based serving families in West Hawai`i communities since 1997. Through partnerships with public and private agencies and groups, Neighborhood Place of Kona has become a Pu`uhonua (place of safety and peace) where all families are welcome.
In a supportive, non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, compassionate atmosphere, Neighborhood Place of Kona focuses on the well-being of children and families.
We provide Family Strengthening Services to help each family address their needs.
We use a “talk story” approach to increase child development knowledge, improve parenting and coping skills, and enhance problem-solving abilities.
