What We Do –
Family Steps:
Care coordinators meet with parents and caregivers to positively increase parenting skills, child development, communication, stress-coping techniques and problem solving skills. We work with families, at no cost to the families, to prioritize and develop a family plan and schedule; identify service providers to address your needs; obtain and help complete any necessary paperwork including:
- Preschool & Daycare Subsidies
- SNAP and Med-Quest
- Parenting education
- Early Intervention
- DOE Assessments
- Job training and College enrollment
- Child development
- Provide a welcoming safe place for parents and children
- Offer support and encouragement, respecting ideas, talents and values
- Strengthen parenting skills
- Respond to families in crisis and help families deal with tough issues
- Link families to community resources
- Enhance children’s social and emotional development; provide opportunities for children to learn, grow and have fun
- Value and support parents and caregivers

Differential response is a process that assesses each report of child abuse or neglect to Child Welfare Services to determine the most appropriate, most effective, and least intrusive response that can be provided by CWS or our community partners.

Family Connect:
- Strengthens families through community referrals, social service applications, and basic needs.
- Parents / Caregivers and children from 0 to 5 years engage in play centers and strengthen developmental skills.
